4 Must-Haves for a High-Converting Landing Page
4 Must-Haves for a High-Converting Landing Page
11/1/18
Freebie.
Free Offer.
Lead Magnet.
It doesn’t matter what you call it, there is ONE thing they all have...a landing page where you collect their information. The reality is a well-structured landing page can make or break your free offer. After all, we can’t see all the amazingness of your gift if we don’t opt in.
Typically you want to try and have a landing page convert at 32%, although I frequently work with my clients to convert in the 50-70% range. There are four key pieces that are going to increase your conversions and taking the time to map out your landing page and getting as specific as possible with the content you’re presenting is key in doing just that.
To support you here are the four key pieces!
#1 BUILD TRUST
When someone lands on your landing page it is from an outside promotion and nothing hurts conversions more than breaking trust. Whether you are organically promoting your free offer on Facebook, Instagram or Pinterest or running ads it’s important to keep the following pieces the same:
Photo
General esthetics
Title of your free offer
Keeping these key pieces consistent will help in the overall conversions and increase the likelihood that someone will follow through with signing up.
#2 SPECIFIC TITLE
The first thing someone will see when landing on your page will be your title. I highly suggest keeping it at the top of your page, followed by an option to opt-in, gives all those people ready to take action an opportunity to do just that.
Don’t be afraid of a long title, sometimes those are the best because they really tell your audience what they are going to get with your free offer. That’s the key with a title that converts, spelling it out for your clients so there is no guessing.
#3 BULLETS WITH BENEFIT
Following your title, your bullets are the second most important piece of your landing page. If someone doesn’t opt in from the very beginning what else do they need to know in order to say YES? Exactly what they will be learning.
Don’t deny the power of a simple, “With this training, you will learn:” It’s one of the easiest ways to draw attention to what your audience is looking for. Create bullets that are very descriptive and outline the benefit for your audience.
#4 CLEAR CALL TO ACTION
You should have ONE, I repeat one, call to action on your landing page. Do not include a link to book a call, join your Facebook group or follow you on Instagram; all of that comes later. We want your audience to come to the page and complete the one action we brought them there for.
Be sure your buttons are clear, contrasting in color so they stand out and have a clear call to action; including “Sign up here!” “Grab your free gift!” “Yes, I want in!”
BONUS TIP: Have at least two calls to actions on your landing page to give people an opportunity at the top and bottom to opt in.

How to Use Facebook Messenger Bots For Your Brand {Video Inside}
How to Use Facebook Messenger Bots For Your Brand
In today's video I'm going to be sharing with you three simple ways to use Facebook Messenger bots, specifically mini chat, to not only grow your audience, but also increase brand awareness, and more importantly, engagement. But before I dive into those three simple steps, I want to share with you an upcoming masterclass that I'm hosting on how to create an authentic brand that allows you to grow your community with ease and leads to more clients. You can find an upcoming time and all the information in the link below.
But before I jump into those three simple steps, I want to go ahead and invite you to an upcoming training that I am doing. I'm going to be sharing five steps on creating an authentic brand that grows your loyal community and leads to more clients. You can join here: https://brandmerry.com/authenticbrand
1. Using Messenger Bots for Live Video Notification
This has been so much fun for me in my brand and business, and I'm so excited to share it with you, because it has really not only increased live viewers, but also increased engagement, which is so important with the social media algorithm. We want people not only showing up to watch, liking and hearting your content, sharing and commenting. All of those pieces are really, really important.
So the more people that you can get on the actual live video, as opposed to watching it on replay, is going to help you stand out online. So how do you do this with mini chat? So there's so many different ways to use Messenger bots, but I absolutely love creating a really simple form in Manychat for an upcoming live video that you are hosting. Maybe for you it's a live video, a live training, a challenge, or a weekly or biweekly segment, like Mondays with Michelle, which I do biweekly on my Facebook business page.
Creating a really simple opt in form using Manychat, putting a cool little title telling them if they sign up they'll get a notification right in their Messenger box, so they don't miss a single thing. Then, when they sign up, you can schedule a broadcast to all of the amazing women and men who have signed up to get the notification, and send them a really cool notification that says "Oh my gosh, we're live." They can click the button and join you live right there and then.
It's also a really cool idea to follow up with any posts afterwards asking if they have any takeaways or questions, or reminding them about a special offer that you mentioned on the live video, which they will hopefully be live on, with that really awesome reminder.
It takes the guess work out for people wondering "When is that person going to go live? Do I have to set a reminder?" And what if they forget, because life gets in the way. We are all by our phones most of the time, so it's really cool to have just a little Facebook Messenger pop up and say "Oh yeah, I'll watch right here on my phone."
2. Using Messenger Bots for Pre-Enrollment to a Launch
So maybe you're rolling out a new course, or a new program, and this is a strategy that I absolutely loved doing for my signature course, Your Brand New Adventure. And it worked really, really well. So what I did is I created a wait list on my website, by embedding a Manychat form onto my website, so that they could go to my website, to the sales page, and click to get a messenger reminder when the cart opened.
Then about a week before the cart opens, I sent a Facebook message to them, just letting them know that they had signed up to join the wait list, and the offer was now available. It was so powerful, I had 50% women buy on the very first day, and the other 50%, yes 100% conversion on a wait list, signed up before the cart closed.
And all I needed to do, because they were an engaged audience, is send them a reminder message mid way through, just letting them know that that special pre-enrollment offer was ending, and then again on the final day, saying "Hey, now if you're interested, here's the information to learn more."
It saved me a ton of time when it came to pre-enrollment for my launch, I didn't have to send out a ton of emails. It was just three simple Manychat messages, and I was done. So it's a really cool tool to use in your arsenal.
One thing to keep in mind is that Manychat and other messenger bots do not allow sole promotion. So you want to make sure that the people who sign up for your wait list are engaged before you actually promote a free order. In order to do that you can add a couple of questions like "Are you still interested in the Brand New Adventure that you signed up for. Click yes or no." And once they respond, they will be considered an engaged audience.
3. Using Messenger bots to Announce a YouTube Video or a Blog Post that just went live
This is really important, especially when it comes to YouTube, because Google wants to see that people are responding to the video shortly after it's published. And the same goes for your blog post.
So the more eyes that you can get on that content right away, the better. So using Messenger bots to send reminders to your audience when a blog post is published, or a YouTube video is live, is really, really powerful. You can create a simple signup using something like Manychat, where they can just sign up for notifications, and then every week, or biweekly, or whenever your schedule is for your blog, or your YouTube channel, you can send a little reminder to their inbox saying "Hey, here's today's topic. I'd love for you to head over to the website, or YouTube. Hit like, write a comment, and let me know your feedback."
It's a great way to get instant feedback, and instant eyes on the content you're creating. Messenger bots are seriously exploding, and I'll share with you my personal favorite, which is Manychat. It's free to use, it's a really, really great tool to add to your online business. But it's really important because it improves engagement, and engagement is so important with the way Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, basically every single algorithm, is functioning today.
So the more people that you can get onto your live videos, or into your programs, on to your blog posts or your YouTube video right away, the better it is going to be for you and your brand. But here's the thing, I shared with you three simple steps today on how you can incorporate Messenger bots, but if you don't have a clear voice for your brand and your business, none of that stuff, that fancy stuff, makes any sense.
Which is why I'm really going to encourage you one more time to join me for my upcoming masterclass on five simple steps to create an authentic brand that allows you to grow your community with ease, and leads to more clients. Grow Your List Using FACEBOOK Lives + YOUR Free Offer
GROW YOUR LIST USING FACEBOOK LIVES + YOUR FREE OFFER
Facebook Lives (well any live video really) have transformed my business and since we are all about visibility here at Brandmerry I want to give you the tools you need to feel confident in sharing your freebie via live videos.
FB lives are two-fold: an excellent way to grow your online visibility and build trust with your audience PLUS grow your list of community.
Today, I'm sharing with you 4 simple ways to start using your Facebook lives to their full advantage to grow your list!
1. CREATE A FREEBIE SPECIFIC VIDEO
An amazing tool to grow your visibility and get the message out about your free offer. Create a FB live where you introduce yourself and then talk up your free offer. Be sure to share the title, some super descriptive bullets or talking about about the benefits of the free offer (exactly what they will learn), why you created and how they can access it.
Once your video is created share it out like crazy, pin the post in your private community and your business page AND if you have a little extra cash you can boost your video so more people see it (be sure to create a custom audience and don't just throw money at it).
2. INTRODUCE YOUR FREE OFFER
You are already going live, and if you aren't you should be, so why not share your free offer with EVERY SINGLE video. I always encourage my clients to pitch with every video, and this doesn't have to be just paid offers it also includes your free workbooks, trainings, challenges and more. There are two places to share your free offer:
Beginning: After your introduction at the beginning of your video share your free offer and how they can get there hands on it (i.e. give them a specific link).
End: Once your video ends remind them of the free offer, talk a little more about the benefits of your offer and how they can get their hands on it.
3. UPDATE THE DESCRIPTION
If you are not doing this you are missing out on a golden opportunity! The #1 thing I recommend ALL my clients do is go back to update the description of their live video to give tons of value and information that entices your audience to watch the video. Remember, your video doesn't matter if no one is watching it.
After your video is complete be sure to give the title of your free offer, your descriptive bullets and the link to access it. Accessibility is super important so make it easy for people to click, give their information and go.
4. BONUS TIP: PIN YOUR LINK IN THE COMMENTS
Another great FB live addition is the option to pin a specific comment or link to the top of your video. With most videos, unless changed, you will see the comments in realtime, so when you pin the comment you guarantee that no matter when someone starts or stops watching the replay they will have access to the link.

4 Steps to Improve Your Brand Consistency Online
4 STEPS TO IMPROVE YOUR BRAND CONSISTENCY ONLINE
Brand consistency is super important - why? Because it is all about brand recognition and brand recognition my friends is crucial in the online world because it builds trust with your audience and ideal client.
When you are not consistent you are breaking trust with your community and when you are breaking trust your bank account with feel it - just sayin!
So what can you do about brand consistency. The first thing to do is check and see where your personal brand is showing up online. It's important to be aware of what social media accounts you've already created a do a little audit on how on brand they truly are. The second thing to do is to choose two platforms to focus your attention on. Don't try to stretch yourself too thin, instead build your brand and community quickly and then move to another platform.
Alrighty, now on to the 4 Simple Steps to Improve Your Brand Consistency Online
1) Your Images & Colors
Whether you are just starting out or not, it is important to have a database of branded photos to choose from. If you are in a place to hire a photographer then amazing, but if you are like me, when I was starting my biz, and the thought of getting photos taken makes your skin crawl then use my little trick. Go through old photos and collect images that have a similar look and feel. For example in the beginning of my business I went through old travel photos and put together a collection that had a similar look and feel and used them when posting online.
Tie your brand colors into your images for a super consistent flow. Color is important because it is what people see and ultimately what first grabs their attention (especially mid scroll on FB). Choosing colors that not only resonate with you, but also make your audience feel something is going to help you standout and build a following online.
Stock photos are another amazing resource and I've put together a fun blog of my favorite sites here: https://www.brandmerry.com/theblog1/my-top-free-stock-photo-resources-to-match-your-brand
2) Your Hook
Ah your hook is the single best way to tell people what it is you do and who you work with in a simple two sentence intro. Your hook is also a super easy way to make sure your title, etc.. is clear on all platforms. For instance, I share my hook before every live video, at the bottom of my blog posts, on my profiles, etc... And because I REALLY like you, here are the 6 questions needed to create your hook:
What is your name?
What is your title?
Who do you work with?
Where are they in their business/ what are they struggling with?
What is the #1 thing you do or are known for?
What is your ideal clients desire?
*See my hook below for a clear example*
3) Your Engagement
The reality is your audience needs guidance when it comes to engagement. You have to constantly ask your audience questions, give them a call to action or prompt them in some way to consistently engage with your brand. This is the first step, but the second piece of YOUR brand consistency is how you engage back with them. Showing up on a regular basis and commenting on your social media posts, blog posts, answering questions in a live stream, etc... is going to help build consistency and trust with your brand.
4) Your Topics
One thing I get asked a lot is how do I write something different for my email, social media, blog, live streams, etc... and the answer is "You don't!" There is absolutely no reason you need to come up with new content for every platform, every single day (you will burn out fast if you do). In fact, it will improve your brand and your overall voice if you are sharing the same topics and information on multiple platforms. Consistency in your messaging and copy allows you to become an expert in one area, rather than "ok" in a bunch!

The Three Key Pieces For a High-Converting Sales Funnel
THE THREE KEY PIECES TO A HIGH-CONVERTING SALES FUNNEL
BY MICHELLE KNIGHT
So you feel like you have to have a passive income product to have a sales funnel?
Or maybe you don't even have a high-priced offer and feel like you shouldn't waste your time on a free offer and funnel?
So many entrepreneurs allow these two pieces to keep them from building a sales funnel. If this is you I encourage you to change your focus on using a sales funnel as a way to take your new prospect from cold to hot lead!
Use this opportunity now to build community and trust with your audience so when you DO have those offers you have someone to sell them too - see how that works?
If you’re not familiar with an email funnel or using the power of a free offer, be sure check out these blog posts here:
4 Steps to Create Your Next Free Offer
Ok, now on to the good stuff.
3 Key Pieces to Include in Every Email Funnel/ Automation or Sequence
Be sure to do these three things to keep open and click rates HIGH, while keeping unsubscribes LOW.
1: Include Your Story to build trust with your audience
Start thinking of everyone who enters your list as a cold lead.
What does that mean? They don't know anything about you, not even your face. So take this opportunity to introduce yourself, share some vulnerabilities and start to build the trust factor.
This is a golden opportunity for people to start REALLY paying attention to you and what you have to say and connecting with you on a deep level. When people trust you they will buy from you!
ACTIONABLE TIP ↠ I suggest the second email you deliver, after your free gift of course introduces you, your brand and tells a bit of a story. From there, include elements of story in the remaining emails while also giving your tips, tools and value to build trust.
A big part of the storytelling process comes from understanding your brand. Watch this free Build a Better Brand class to learn my 3-step process (hint: one is story)!
2: Write a subject line that gets opened
It's one thing to have a funnel, it's another to have someone read it - which is kind of the point isn't it?
It doesn't matter what you say in the body context of your email, if people don't open your email they will never know any of it. I argue that this step is the most important part of the process.
The reality is your audience is bombarded with emails on a regular basis and you need to grab their attention as quickly as possible. Ask yourself what would make me open this email?
ACTIONABLE TIP ↠ Spend time creating your subject line! One of my recommendations is to write the content of the email first and THEN pull some of the juiciest pieces as the subject line. Using things like numbers, questions and emoji’s can help with open rates. Be sure to keep your subject line lower case (i.e. “7 ways to improve your marketing” vs “7 Ways to Improve Your Marketing).
3: GIVE TREMENDOUS VALUE TO YOUR AUDIENCE
This is an excellent time to not only build trust with your audience through storytelling, but to also position yourself as the expert and guide they need.
People want to know WHY they should listen to you, so tell them! Start giving tips about a topic that interests them, share advice or a life lesson and what it taught you or share an old blog post that gives value.
This is the time to give, give and give so they make your emails a top priority in their inbox and understand why they should invest in you over someone else when the time comes.
ACTIONABLE TIP ↠ This is not just about “How to” content, while that can be super useful to your audience, it’s not the only way to add value. You can add value to your audience by solving a problem for them, giving them inspiration or flipping their mindset. When you think of the end goal of your brand, it should be to solve a problem your ideal customer is experiencing…use this time to start doing that. I recommend anywhere between 3-5 value emails before your subscribers is added to your weekly email list.
If you’re looking for an email platform I recommend, look no further than Convertkit! I’ve been using them for years and they are still my TOP resource for entrepreneurs.
CONCLUSION
Growing your email community is VERY important. I can’t stress enough how important it is to have a way to reach your audience that doesn’t rely on social media. No matter what stage you’re in at your business, having a free gift and email funnel is necessary and a great way to start building community and building trust.
If you’re ready to improve your overall brand to attract ideal customers, increase engagement and build a revenue-generating business, be sure to watch my free branding class: Build a Better Brand Method.
